Cozumel rented 65,000 hotel rooms during November 2017

Cozumel.- November was a good month for the hoteliers of Cozumel, as they rented 3,700 more rooms in comparison to the same period last year.

Isela Valenzuela Jiménez, representative of the Island’s the hoteliers, declared that in November 2016, 61,300 rooms were occupied, while this year the figure for the same month reached 65,000.

She mentioned that this scenario suggests a positive December for the hotel guild of Cozumel.

“65 thousand hotel rooms were sold in just one month. While the month of December always starts with a 55% occupancy, since it is just start the holidays, and the “boom” comes after December 20th, when schools are out and people have received their Christmas bonuses, ” she explained.

“This holiday season, we expect national and international tourism, although foreign travelers always  predominate in Cozumel. We are happy to have new flights coming in this winter compared to last year,” she continued.

“We also have more domestic air connectivity, mostly from Guadalajara and Monterrey, which are new direct flights, and we will also have the new Denver-Cozumel flight with United Airlines, starting on December 23”, Valenzuela Jiménez concluded.
